Linkin Park's show was freaking awesome!!!

Walau nggak bisa diitung bener-bener concert, karena terlalu pendek. Come on, 2 hours is not enough for a band that has 2 albums. So, in the end of the show, adrenaline gue masih belum turun. Untung pacenya cepet abis, both the music and the show. Hampir nggak ada jeda antara lagu, except for trhowing/spraying water dan beberapa kali permintaan Chester dan Mike supaya orang-orang nggak ngepush mereka yang di deket pagar.

Oh, ada break cukup lama juga pas mau lagu Crawling, Numb sama In The End. Ini emang lagu-lagu yang rada 'ballad-like'. Cool intros by the way for the songs. Gue teringat sedikit sama konser Metallica (di hari yang rusuh dulu) ngedengerin 'One'. Crawling juga diputer dengan gaya yang sama - long intro noise, slow buildup, great riffs on the reffs.

But the most pleasant surprise for me (at least) adalah saat mereka break dari lagu-lagu mereka sendiri and decided to play a cover song : 'Wish' from Nine Inch Nails. I didn't know that they're going to do that, so i was very pleasantly surprised. Cool!!! Tapi dasar karena para penonton/fan-nya pada muda-muda (like SMA/freshmen year gitu), they don't know who the f**k Nine Inch Nails was. Jadi gue sama beberapa orang doang yang gerak model orang gila, banging, slamming nggak keruan denger Nine Inch Nails. Come on, this is probably the only time you're going to listen to any band playing one of NIN's songs live.

Thank god i don't have a 'lolita' syndrome complex. Hidung gue pasti udah berdarah-darah ngelihat begitu banyak anak-anak muda tampang 'bak model out of Cosmo Girl/Seventeen and what other girlie magazine yang ada di stateside sono. Yang usia-usia gue mungkin paling cuma 20 percent of the crowd there.

Fun juga berjingkrak-jingkrak nggak keruan kayak lo SMA lagi, sama orang-orang yang mungkin usianya half your age. Or at least 2/3 nya.Jeez, are we that old? Dan kerasa lo udah mulai tua ketika lo cuma bisa nyanyiin komplit the first five songs. Terutama dengan suasana 'bak press-an OPT gitu, lengkap dengan bau keringat sama jedot kepala/senggol tangan. Hey, i have no problem with bruises, cuma masalahnya nggak enak aja kalo cewek-cewek di sebelah/depan/belakang gue ngerasa di'harass'. Big trouble itu kalo terjadi.

So di beberapa lagu slow dan on that NIN cover, gue cukup sempet take a breather. Nah, pas lagu penutupan selesai, gue gabung sama temen gue. One Step Closer, dan kita sama beberapa anak SMA gitu sempet bikin arena mosh-pit/body-slamming kecil. It was great fun!!! Lucu juga ngelihat orang-orang tiba-tiba minggir semua. Hehehe. Mestinya gue gini dari awal kali, supaya dapet udara. Apalagi si sponsor (Sosro) cuma ngasih satu fruit tea kecil for the whole show!!! Come on!! Paling nggak lo butuh 1 liter air buat ngegantiin all those liquids. Nepathya hear me - get Aqua for the next concert(s)!!!

Speaking of sponsors, aneh juga nggak ngelihat iklan rokok or the obligatory soft drink (Pepsi/Coke). Gue ngebahas ini sama temen gue, dan gue bilang gue nggak bisa bayangin orang seneng head banging/slamming gitu terus pas aus minum teh. Hahaha.

To sum it all, it's an awersome show. Short jadi beda sama konser seperti bayangan gue (come on Metallica can do it for five hours!!!). Dan gue nggak sampai kehabisan suara plus badan gue nggak sakit/pegel the next day.

If you haven't heard them, cari lagu-lagu Lost Prophets, yang albumnya "Start Something' udah beredar di Jakarta. Kecuali mungkin mereka yang nggak suka musik keras. These guys play hard and fast, seperti layaknya punk rock, tapi dicampur beberapa nu metal influences. if you like bands like Incubus, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park dan P.O.D, you won't be disappointed.

And their song is great for 'racing down the freeway'!!! Yeah, what do you expect dari band yang juga ngisi soundtracknya Need For Speed Underground???

Gue sempet ragu juga pas mau beli, dan sayangnya gue nggak jadi beli waktu ngambil tiket. I chickened out dan milih untuk ngendengerin dulu mp3 nya yang temen gue dah d/l - one album full. Gue malah beli Solace-nya Sarah mcLachlan (album yang gue cari udah lama) sama akhirnya dapet salah satu album lamanya Liz Phair - whitechocolatespaceegg. Mungkin minggu ini atau minggu depan gue mau cek Aquarius Pondok Indah untuk ngelihat album-album yang nggak ada di mahakam atau di toko-toko mall yang udah so freaking 'pop'.

Tame, sedated, commercialy packed, passive, you-hear-one-you-heard-them-all-songs. Bahkan tokoh-tokoh alternatif like Alanis Morisette pun udah 'jatuh'. Lihat Offspring, still going on after 20 years. These crazy guys from Orange County are something else.

And of course, orang-orang model Chris Cornell dan Tom Morello.

Look to the underground kalo lo mau cari lagu-lagu yang true dan tell it like it is. Not some sugar coated, mellowed-out, so-called-heart-wrenching songs.
