[Listening to: Secret Garden - Bruce Springsteen - Jerry Maguire (04:28)]

Found myself at starbucks again. Mmm, must've trouble sleeping. No, that's not it....i can't seem to remember why i came here.

Oh yes, i was going to buy groceries. But got here too late.

Just sipping my espresso americano. Funny how the coffee tends to relax me more. But i probably not going to sleep much anyway.

Bluberry muffins. Don't you just love 'em? Some guy did and develop a craving for blueberrys. Bu..t somebody forgot to tell him to brush his teeth. And that's how he became known. Bluetooth.

True story i tell you, don't believe me? Checkout your local bookstore/library for scandinavian folklore.

That makes me wonder....will i forgot to brush my teeth?

Time for another sip

or another bite

you know, or maybe you don't? Writing comes naturally for me. Probably because i tend to think in words, well most of the time. But i seem to remember in images or sensation. At least i seem to think so.

Hey, met vina 96? here. Or was it vita? Don't seem right....god, i'm really getting old. Must be a drag....getting old i mean.

So i'm still at senayan. Sipping a still full glass cup of americano. After this week, i think i'm entitled to a little pampering.....or what do those people call it? Tender loving care....yeah right.

pardon my cynism. Or sarcasm if you prefer. Obviously i haven't told you what has happened this last week. Do you really want to know? Read on, my young padawan. Read on

no...no i'm not going to tell you what happened? Rather, i'll tell you something you may or may not already know.

Ever heard of grav boots? Grav boots or gravity boots is an exceptionally important equipment. Especially if you're on orbit/outer space. We, well at least me, always thought that grav boots simulate gravity by keeping your feet stick to a flat surface. Read comics, watch movies and you'll see this. This is a misconception.

Grav boots simulate gravity, just not that way. Let me explain. In our body, there are muscles that help the skeleton retain lts shape. This muscles, called tonal muscles work with nerve endings to 'detect' pressure/gravity. In outer space, the nerve endings stops getting stimuli and correctly assume that tnere is no gravity. So it tells the tonal muscles to relax. This is a bad thing. This induces muscles atrophy and calcium deficiency, causing bones and skeleton to weaken.

Lost? I'm getting there. Grav boots simulate gravity to our body by simulating pressure on your feet, lt simulates a walking sensatlon. This makes the body thinks its still on earth/solid ground.

Amazing what you'll learn on discovery channel

ever heard of the song 'someday'?
You know that mandy moore film soundtrack? One of the lyrics goes saying - someday we will know why the sky is blue.

If you remember your physics 101, you'll remember that blue, which is a primary color, comes from white. If you shine a white light through a prism, you'll get a spectrum of colors. Red is a 'weak' color, while blue is a 'strong' one. The differentiating factor - strength - is really the level of frequency - waves - we just interprete this as what we think is color.

red - the weak color - have low frequency. This allows for bending and reflecting, but more importantly, it allows to 'get through' the air, which ic full of particles without much interference. Blue - the strong color - has a higher frequency, so it 'hits' these particles. Hence, we see it as blue.

Hmm, it seemed the singer or song writer never pay much attention on his science classes.

By the way, i found that little fact to be interesting. Something that starts as one (white light) will became nil with just a change of intensity. At the end it will become nil/nul (black). Yet this black/white is actually so many colors. so what is blue? Blue is the strongest perceivable derlvates of white, while red is the weakest. If black and white represents existence and not existing, then the derivatives (the spectrum of colors) all represent part of existence (or lack of). Since blue has a sfronger wave, we often mistakenly think it is ideal. Want proof?

Fire

The blue part is actuallg hotter than the yellow/red part. But we associate red with hot, hence the word red hot.

Ice/cold is also something that is also illogically associated with blue. Ice is transparent - colorless. And snow is white.

So humans are not logical

for me it's quiet different. Between the extreme point of exstence is where we are. Blue represents the in between that is strong/unbending, the scientific side of humanity. The intelectual utopia.

So the sky, being blue, is what guides me. It is the place i aspire to be. Science allows me to try reaching exlstence - the white spot / the 1 - in a way.

Why? Because that seems to be the only way i have.

so, i'm thankful for gravity, the earth and sky.

Gravity holds me together, the earth lets me know where is down, and the sky where is up
